INTERVIEW WITH duwane taylor
aka
big discipline
(part 1)

Duwane Taylor is a highly respected, versatile and pioneering performer and choreographer from North London. His love for music drew him to begin studying ballet and contemporary for two years at Barnet College in 2006. During this time he developed a love and passion for street dance styles and for the next few years began to train and gain as much knowledge as possible with the motto 'versatility is key.'

Though versed in many street styles he grew particularly close to the style of K.R.U.M.P. and began to research, learn and develop further in the style.

In 2012, Duwane created pioneering K.R.U.M.P. crew Buckness Personified who have gone from strength to strength changing the way K.R.U.M.P. is viewed and perceived, making waves in the K.R.U.M.P. community both nationally and internationally. Buckness Personified have been leading the K.R.U.M.P. theatre movement and are continually breaking barriers and boundaries for this often misunderstood style.

In 2016, Duwane Taylor and Buckness Personified were chosen to work with world-renowned choreographer Hofesh Shechter in a project for East London Dance’s East Wall warm up, an amazing accolade which has helped to further Duwane’s goal of spreading K.R.U.M.P. to the masses.
